According to the most recent data from the NHS, the current wait time for an MRI scan in Lincolnshire is 19 weeks. The Open MRI clinic’s new self-referral option helps individuals receive a faster diagnosis, so they can receive treatment and begin their recovery more promptly.
Using the online booking system, clients can schedule their own MRI scans for up to three body parts, or a dynamic scan that can investigate a joint while it is in motion. Clients who need more information before scheduling a scan can also request a virtual pre-MRI consultation with the Open MRI medical team.
While every client will receive the consulting radiologist’s report and digital copies of their scans, the clinic is also partnered with MSK Doctors, a musculoskeletal specialist clinic. This allows the clinic to provide direct referrals to several of the UK’s top experts with preferential rates for treatment or surgery.
The Open MRI clinic allows for scanning any body part using an innovative open-design scanner that has several benefits over traditional MRIs. While the most common benefit is the ability to be scanned in more comfortable positions, the design also allows for scanning joints while they are in motion.
Though each scan includes a pre-scan consultation and a post-scan discussion, clients may also choose to schedule an appointment, either virtual or face-to-face, with the clinic’s Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon. This allows them to go over their results with a specialist, slide by slide, while discussing their diagnosis and treatment options.
